Best of all, the TMAX 16K aluminum mechanic truck is loaded with design and engineering features that help you get the job done efficiently day in and day out.

Quality comes standard with the TMAX 30K. The innovative engineering and precision construction make it a workhorse, and the lighter weight delivers increased payload.
But don’t let the lighter weight make you think there’s a sacrifice in performance and longevity. The TMAX 30K is a proven performer built for years of service. Side packs on the aluminum model are constructed of 1/8″ aluminum with highly engineered forming, welding, connecting and supporting techniques to deliver superior tool-carrying capability and extreme corrosion resistance.

With extensive crane compatibility and customization options, TMAX 1 Mechanic Trucks have a wide range of applications covered. The aluminum construction provides corrosion resistance for years of hard work and reliability, and the quality is apparent in every element from the engineering to the materials to the precision construction.

Heavy-duty work requires a reliable, heavy-duty mechanic truck, and that describes the TMAX 2 to a T. Like all Stellar equipment, the TMAX 2 begins with professional engineering and top-quality materials. Add in precision construction, and it’s no wonder the TMAX 2 Mechanic Truck has a reputation as a durable workhorse.

For servicing big fleets in demanding industries, such as heavy equipment, mining and construction, you need a mechanic truck with a bring-it-on attitude. That’s the TMAX 3. Quality-built with the latest engineering, top materials and precision assembly, TMAX 3 Mechanic Trucks can handle the daily — and weekly, monthly and yearly — grind in the toughest working conditions.

A mechanics truck — also called a service truck or field service truck — is a commercial truck upfitted with an aluminum service body, a crane, an air compressor, and organized tool storage. They're used by equipment dealers, aggregate and construction contractors, utility companies, oil field operators, and anyone who needs to service, repair, or move equipment in the field. Instead of bringing the machine to the shop, the shop comes to the machine. information.
Not always. We build non-CDL mechanics trucks on platforms like the Ford F-600 (up to 22,000–23,000 GVW) and Freightliner M2 106 (up to 26,000 GVW). Once you move into 33,000 GVW platforms like the Peterbilt 537, a CDL is required. The non-CDL options still support large cranes — the Freightliner M2 can carry the same Stellar 12630 crane as the Peterbilt 537, giving you serious lift capacity without a CDL requirement.
I Crane selection depends on what you're lifting and how far out you need to reach. The Stellar 8630 (53,100 ft-lb moment, 8,600 lb at 6 ft) is well-suited for F-600 class trucks and light construction or fleet service work. The Stellar 12630 (77,800 ft-lb moment, 12,000 lb at 6'5") steps up to heavier equipment moves and is common in aggregate and heavy construction. We'll spec the right crane for your actual loads — not just the biggest one that fits.
The Stellar TMAX is an aluminum mechanics service body with raised compartments (52 or 60 inch depending on model), a master-lock system, spray-in bedliner, full drawer and shelving options, and stainless hardware. Options include integrated lighting, generator mounts, fuel transfer setups, and custom toolbox configurations. The TMAX 1-11 is our most common non-CDL build; the TMAX 2-11 and 2-14 are our medium-duty and heavy-duty configurations.
Yes — compressors are standard on most mechanics truck builds. We install Stellar compressors in configurations from 40 CFM (25-gallon tank, common on F-600 builds) up to 46 CFM at 175 PSI with a 4-cylinder 2-stage unit. The compressor is driven off a hot-shift PTO system with a tandem pump and dedicated hydraulic reservoir. We spec the compressor to match the air demands of the tools and equipment you'll be running.
